Here are five reasons why you, as a leader, should focus more on helping your team create and outline options rather than directly choosing a goal for them.

It was nearly a year ago at a gathering of business leaders when an organic farmer began sharing the lessons he’d learned on his farm and from his father. As he spoke, he mentioned his brother, whom he referred to as a “master cultivator.”

“My brother is a master cultivator.”

Months later, I had the opportunity to spend several hours touring this organic farm and to ask exactly what he meant by "master cultivator."
